Water Problems
Your water should be crystal clear and free from chemicals, odors, bad tastes and hardness. However, water quality varies from home to home, and there are many common water problems that can cause your water to appear cloudy, have a bad smell or taste, stain and water-spot fixtures, or even shorten the life of your pipes and appliances.
Regardless of the water problems you’re experiencing, Clearion products can offer a solution.
Chlorine
Chlorine is a popular disinfectant used by most municipal water treatment facilities in the United States. Although chlorine is an efficient way to kill harmful bacteria, it does have a few drawbacks. Not only does it taste and smell bad, it can dry your skin, fade your clothing, and dry out rubber seals in your appliances.
Rotten Egg Smell
This very unpleasant smell can be the result of high levels of hydrogen sulfide in the water. Hydrogen sulfide is a corrosive gas that can affect the taste of your food and accelerate corrosion on metal faucets and plumbing.

Staining
Iron and manganese can cause rusty-orange or black staining on your clothes, fixtures, sinks, tubs and toilets. These unsightly stains can be very hard to remove.

Earthy, Fishy Taste or Smell
Microorganisms and other bacteria can thrive in moist and dark environments, including water fixtures, causing this unpleasant taste and smell. These contaminants can survive for months in water, fixtures or plumbing.
Hardness
Hard water is the result of a combination of dissolved calcium and magnesium. These minerals cause soap scum and water spots on water fixtures, and can greatly shorten the lifespan of common appliances. Hard water frequently necessitates 20-30% more energy to heat water, and 3-4 times more soap and detergent for cleaning and laundry.

Corrosion
Acidic water, characterized by a low pH, will cause corrosion of metallic plumbing fixtures and piping. Another common symptom of acidic water is blue-green staining of fixtures and laundry with copper plumbing systems.
